Village of Lanxi Walkthrough – Black Myth: Wukong

This article will delve into every nook and cranny, showing you the secrets, hidden items, and useful tips to overcome all challenges. Oh, and don’t forget, you will have valuable help from Zhu Bajie! Although he loves to eat and sleep, he is very formidable in battle.

Outskirts of the Village

Our journey begins from an offering box, where Wukong is imprisoned and being carried by two Yaoguai. The surrounding scene is dark, with the corpses of two Wushan Lesser Guai lying nearby.

As soon as you escape the offering box and regain control of Wukong, don’t rush forward. Turn back up the hill you were just carried down. At the top of the hill, you will find a small house, hiding the first secret: a green Wisp and a precious Monkey-Head Mushroom. Collect them, as these are useful ingredients for the road ahead.

Leaving the starting point, the trail leading into the Village of Lanxi appears, covered by an eerily quiet night. Along the way, keep an eye out for floating green Wisps and harvestable plants such as: Licorice, Snake-Head Mushroom, Fragrant Jade Flower. These materials will be essential for crafting medicine and upgrading equipment. Especially Licorice will sometimes drop Licorice Seeds, an important type of seed.

Be careful, because this path is not as peaceful as it seems. You will soon encounter your first enemy: Puppet Spiders. They are large spiders, moving swiftly and attacking with deadly stabs from their sharp legs. More dangerously, they also have the ability to spit poison from a distance.

Luckily, you are not alone. Zhu Bajie will accompany you in this battle. Take advantage of Zhu Bajie‘s strength, let him attract the Puppet Spider‘s attention, creating opportunities for you to attack from behind or the sides, avoiding dangerous direct attacks. Don’t forget to bring Antimiasma Potions to neutralize the poison from the Puppet Spiders, protect yourself, and be ready for the next challenges.

Village of Lanxi – Main Area

Two Paths

Stepping into the Village of Lanxi, you will immediately feel the gloomy and eerily quiet atmosphere covering the village. Before you is a fork with two paths: the main path leading into the center of the village and a smaller side path on the left, following the stream down to a lower area. From my experience, you should temporarily ignore the main path and turn left on the side path first. Along this path, you will find a green Wisp and some useful medicinal plants. However, be careful, a ferocious Puppet Spider is guarding this area, ready to attack any intruder. After defeating that annoying spider and collecting the necessary items, return to the original fork and confidently proceed along the main path, continuing your journey to explore the mysterious Village of Lanxi.

Main Path

Leaving the fork, the main road leads you deeper into the Village of Lanxi. A small abandoned house on the right attracts your attention. Be careful when entering this house, because behind its dilapidated appearance is a green Wisp floating, but at the same time, a ferocious Puppet Spider is also hiding in the shadows, ready to ambush. After dealing with the spider and collecting the green Wisp, leave the house and continue your journey on the main path.

Soon, you will face two new enemies: Dragonfly Guai and Lantern Holder. Dragonfly Guai, with their bizarre dragonfly shape, flitting in the air, are masters of sniping with deadly poison arrows. Meanwhile, Lantern Holders, the skulking dwarf demons, use their eerie lanterns to summon green flames to attack you, and are ready to engage in close combat with their sharp sickles. Facing two types of enemies at the same time, prioritize eliminating Dragonfly Guai from afar. Their ability to fly and attack from a distance will cause a lot of trouble if you let them survive too long. Take advantage of long-range attacks or magic to take them down before they can unleash their poison arrows. After eliminating the danger from the air, you can focus on dealing with Lantern Holder more easily.

Lower Level

After dealing with the two annoying Dragonfly Guai and Lantern Holder, look for a small staircase on the left, near the lantern decoration area. This staircase will lead you down to a lower area, which hides many secrets and dangers. Going down the stairs, you will again face another Lantern Holder. Be careful with his ghostly flames and quickly finish him off. Then you can freely collect the 5 green Wisps floating around this area.

But don’t leave yet, because the real reward is still ahead. At the end of the road, you will find a Treasure Chest placed neatly in front of a small house.

The feeling of excitement when about to open the treasure chest is quickly extinguished by a swarm of Stone Spiders suddenly emerging from the ground. These stone spiders are small but they move very fast, are annoyingly tough, and often attack in swarms. Don’t let their size fool you, Stone Spiders can self-destruct, causing a large amount of damage if you stand too close. So, keep moving, avoid being surrounded by them. Area of effect (AoE) attacks will be most effective in this case, helping you quickly clear the swarm of spiders. And remember, when you see them start to shake, immediately move back to avoid their suicide explosion. After clearing out the Stone Spiders, your reward is the Treasure Chest with valuable Blood of the Iron Bull and some other random materials.

Back to the Main Path

After exploring the lower area and collecting valuable items, return to the stairs and climb up to the main path to continue the journey. But wait, don’t rush! Right behind the small house where the Dragonfly Guai once arrogantly stood shooting poison arrows (and has now been taken down by you), keep an eye out around. You will discover a rare Lingzhiling hiding in the form of a normal mushroom. Don’t overlook this precious medicinal herb, harvest it, it will be very useful to you later.

Beetle Captain

Continuing on the main path, you will soon encounter a new obstacle: Beetle Captain. This terrifyingly large beetle captain moves swiftly and is equipped with two sharp swords. He will continuously attack you with powerful slashes, especially dangerous with whirlwind stabs. Not only that, Beetle Captain can also fly back after attacking, making it difficult to approach and unleash combos. To deal with this stubborn Beetle Captain, use the Immobilize skill to immobilize him, creating a golden opportunity for you to attack. However, always be alert, because a cunning Puppet Spider is also hiding nearby, waiting for an opportunity to ambush.

After defeating the Beetle Captain, don’t forget to explore the surrounding area. Check behind the house on the left, you will discover a green Wisp shining, but be careful, a Puppet Spider is hanging upside down on a nearby tree, ready to protect its “spoils”.

Two More Paths

At the end of the road, you will face another fork. A narrow, rickety path crosses the rushing stream below, the other is a wider, more spacious road, leading to a large building on the right. Before deciding which way to go, take some time to explore the small house located right next to the narrow path. Inside that house, a precious Treasure Chest awaits you.

However, be cautious, because as soon as you step in, a swarm of ferocious Stone Spiders will suddenly emerge from the ground, determined to protect the treasure. After dealing with the annoying spiders, open the chest and take your reward. Next, follow the wider path on the right, continuing your journey to explore the Village of Lanxi.

Right Path

Following the wide path on the right, you will gradually walk through a gentle slope. Pay attention, a green Wisp is floating by the roadside, don’t miss the opportunity to collect it. Continuing on, you will come across a small bridge, crossing the water, leading to a large courtyard. Prominent in the middle of the courtyard is an old, crooked house, covered with thick cobwebs, creating an eerie scene.

Prepare yourself, because this is the territory of two ferocious Grasshopper Guai. These demon grasshoppers possess terrifying speed, they will continuously attack you with lightning-fast slashes. Focus, dodge the dangerous attacks and take advantage of Zhu Bajie‘s help to defeat them. There is also a Puppet Tick flitting around, eliminate it first to avoid unnecessary trouble.

After defeating the two Grasshopper Guai and Puppet Tick, boldly enter the house covered in cobwebs. All your efforts will be well rewarded, because inside the house is a large Treasure Chest, filled with extremely valuable items. You will find Loong Aura Amplification Pellet to enhance Dragon Aura, Knot of Voidness, an important material for upgrading, Blood of the Iron Bull, the divine Septenary Heartfire Pill that restores all skills, and even a Life-Saving Pill that allows you to revive once.

Estate of the Zhu

After exploring the right path and collecting valuable items, return to the initial fork in the road. This time, choose the narrow path across the stream, which will lead you to the Estate of the Zhu. But be careful, as you step onto the path, a Grasshopper Guai will suddenly jump down from the roof above, ready to ambush you.

Crossing the narrow path, a large, deserted field covered with cobwebs appears before you. In the distance, a Lantern Holder is patrolling. Approach and finish him off to ensure safety. Next, pay attention to the small house on the left side of the field. Inside that house hides a Treasure Chest, but be cautious, as you enter, a Grasshopper Guai will suddenly appear outside, blocking your escape route, while inside, a swarm of ferocious Stone Spiders will emerge from the ground, surrounding you from all sides.

Just outside the house is a small garden. Here, you will again face another swarm of Stone Spiders. Defeat them and try to harvest the mushroom in the garden. Don’t let its ordinary appearance fool you, it’s actually a Fungiman – an annoying mushroom enemy in disguise. After defeating the Fungiman, you will receive Tier 2 resources – valuable upgrade materials.

But be careful, another danger is lurking from above. On the right side of the garden, on a high rock, a Dragonfly Guai is hovering, ready to rain poisonous arrows down on you. Find a way to approach and take him down to eliminate this threat.

After clearing the area, find the Estate of the Zhu Shrine – a very important resting place. The Shrine is located in the far left corner of the field, hidden behind an ancient archway. This is an ideal stop for you to rest, restore health and energy after intense battles. You can also take the opportunity to upgrade your equipment and purchase necessary items. Don’t forget to return to the Zodiac Village, Xu Dog and Shen Monkey now have more new goods, very useful for your journey. And if you weren’t strong enough before, now is the time to go back and challenge Yin Tiger again. At the Shrine of the Estate of the Zhu, you can buy useful items such as: Antimiasma Powder, Shock-Quelling Powder, Tonifying Decoction, Mind Core, Cold Iron Leaves, Fine Gold Thread, Refined Iron Sand, Gold Tree Core, Licorice, Fragrant Jade Flower, Gentian, Withered Silkworm, Snake-Head Mushroom.

When you are ready, go up the stairs from the Shrine, you will see a large door. That is the door to The Second Sister‘s lair. Knock on the door, and Zhu Bajie will suggest a daring plan: disguise yourself as a Wushan Lesser Guai. After a dramatic cutscene, you will officially face The Second Sister in her true form – a giant, hideous spider.

The Second Sister Miniboss Fight

After the dramatic door-knocking, the door to The Second Sister‘s lair slowly opens, and you will have to face the spider mistress in her true hideous form: a giant spider with eight strong legs, the two front legs transformed into two sharp blades, ready to take the life of anyone who dares to challenge her. Although The Second Sister is not the most difficult boss in Black Myth: Wukong, don’t be careless, her attacks are extremely unpredictable and insidious. Fortunately, you will not be alone in this battle, Zhu Bajie will stand shoulder to shoulder with you, supporting you wholeheartedly. Don’t forget to buy Antimiasma Powder from the Shrine before entering the battle to detoxify, protecting yourself from the spider’s venomous attacks.

The Second Sister has a diverse arsenal of attacks. She can slash continuously with her two razor-sharp front legs. When you see her raise her two legs, quickly dodge to the sides or back to avoid them. She can also stomp repeatedly after lifting her front body, throwing you into the air. Keeping a safe distance, using Thrust Stance to retreat while attacking, creating space between you and the spider is a wise tactic at this time. Occasionally, The Second Sister will jump into the air and slam down. Pay close attention, when she is hovering in the air, quickly roll under her to avoid being crushed.

One of The Second Sister‘s most dangerous attacks is the pincer with her two front legs. When she spreads her two legs, focus on observing, if you see a sparkling light on her two legs, that is a sign she is about to clamp you.

Use Rock Solid as soon as you see that light to counterattack, creating a precious opportunity to attack. But don’t be complacent, if she spreads her two legs without the sparkling light, it’s just a feint, right after that she will suddenly slash you with one leg. Always be vigilant!

In addition, The Second Sister can also dash and spin like a tornado, sweeping away everything in her path. When you see her start to spin, stay away from her attack range. When attacked from the side, the spider mistress can also lift her body and slam down to defend herself. Therefore, be careful when attacking from behind. Another very annoying attack is a small jump and stab with two front legs, right after that she will shoot a burst of poison towards you. This attack is very difficult to predict and has a fast attack speed, concentrate and be ready to dodge.

When The Second Sister has low health, she will become even more frenzied and dangerous, frequently spitting poison and tumbling to attack. Always remember to observe the movement of her two front legs to predict her attacks. Zhu Bajie will be a great help, attracting The Second Sister‘s attention, creating opportunities for you to attack from behind. Make the most of this support. Use Thrust Stance to keep your distance and Rock Solid to counterattack when you have the opportunity.

After defeating The Second Sister, you will receive well-deserved rewards: Gold Tree Core, Venomous Hair, and a large amount of 1931 Will.

Exploring the Area After the Fight

The victory over The Second Sister brings a sense of satisfaction, but don’t leave right away, this area still hides many secrets and valuable items. First, return to the house near the entrance, where you knocked on the door to challenge The Second Sister. Inside the house, you will see a prominent yellow vase. Break this vase, and you will find Awaken Wine Worm, an important item for later upgrades.

Next, explore the battle area. In a corner of the area, you will find a blooming Fragrant Jade Flower, harvest it. Then, turn your attention to the right side of the cave (from the entrance). There, hidden in two opposite corners are two Treasure Chests waiting for you to discover. However, the path to these two chests is not easy, you will have to overcome a few spider enemies, Grasshopper enemies and a ferocious Dragonfly. Be careful and defeat them, then you can freely open the two Treasure Chests and collect the valuable Snakehead Mushroom and Wooden Chest.

Before leaving this area, find the large altar located on the other side of the pit (opposite the cave entrance). On that sacred altar, you will find the Celestial Jade Lotus Pill, a beautiful jade-colored elixir. Collect it, the Celestial Jade Lotus Pill will permanently increase your maximum health, a very important advantage in the upcoming fierce battles.

Finally, when you are sure that you have not missed any items, proceed towards the pit and jump down. This is a one-way path, there is no turning back, taking you to The Webbed Hollow, a new area full of dangers and mysteries that await your discovery ahead.
