How to Enter Mount Mei from The Great Pagoda
After completing the six great encounters, return to The Great Pagoda in Chapter 3. This pagoda is located on the Snow-Veiled Trail in the Pagoda Realm area. Find this place, go to the top of the tower, and you will see a special red tapestry, distinct from the surrounding tapestries. This tapestry is the secret gateway to Mount Mei.
When you approach the red tapestry, a cutscene will appear. The Small Buddha – whom you met in Chapter 3 – will appear. It is the Small Buddha who will open the red tapestry, unveil the secret, and lead you into Mount Mei, beginning the journey to conquer this legendary mountain. Be prepared, because the toughest challenges await you ahead!
Mei-Jian Peak
Stepping through the red tapestry, you will see a staircase leading up the mountain. Along the way, pay attention, you will need to “shimmy across a ledge on the left”. Passing this ledge, the path will lead you to the Mei-Jian Peak Keeper’s Shrine.
Here, take a break, recover your inner strength, and most importantly, “gear up” thoroughly. Check your Plantain Fan (a powerful divine fan), Spellbinder (a magical weapon), and consumables such as Loong Aura Amplification Pellets (for increasing inner strength), Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets (for increasing strength), Ginseng Pellets (for restoring health), Soul Remigration Pill (revival item), and Shock-Quelling Powder (lightning resistance powder). All set? Proceed to Mei-Jian Peak, where the final challenge awaits!
Erlang, The Sacred Divinity Boss Fight (Human Form)
At the top of Mei-Jian, you will face Erlang, The Sacred Divinity – the enemy you encountered at the beginning of the game. Don’t underestimate him, Erlang is one of the toughest bosses in Black Myth: Wukong; he not only has a large health bar but also an extremely sturdy shield.
Combat Strategy
- Weakness: To damage Erlang, you must first break his shield.
- Recommended Weapon: Use the Plantain Fan – a powerful treasure capable of blowing away Erlang‘s shield in an instant. After the shield is broken, utilize the Spellbinder to deal maximum damage to him.
- Spells: Immobilize (to freeze Erlang) should only be used when his shield is broken. Cloudstep helps you dodge Erlang‘s attacks and quickly close the distance.
- Items: Use the potions prepared at the Mei-Jian Peak Keeper’s Shrine to increase your strength and recovery. Don’t forget the Shock-Quelling Powder to counter Erlang‘s lightning attacks.
Phase 1
As soon as the battle begins, quickly use the Plantain Fan to break Erlang‘s shield. If you chose the mage path, follow up with Immobilize immediately to control him, then deal damage with the Spellbinder. Otherwise, use the Spellbinder immediately after breaking the shield. With this tactic, you can quickly take away the first 25% of Erlang‘s health. Remember to “Run about halfway across the field before you throw out the Plantain Fan,” to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Phase 2
Erlang will unleash dangerous combos; he will use his spear combined with a giant axe and a sword. Be careful when he uses the sword: “When he has the sword, you can expect projectiles to follow.” Use the Plantain Fan or Cloudstep to break the shield when it regenerates, then use Immobilize (if using magic) or attack continuously with heavy attacks. In particular, be careful when Erlang summons the giant axe from the sky. Dodge the axe and shockwave with proper movement.
Phase 3
Erlang will split into multiple forms and shoot lasers from his forehead. Dodge by moving continuously, and be careful of the finishing move with swirling red spears. “You can deflect the spears until he charges up to perform the full attack, but as soon as your staff stops spinning, start dodging.”
Phase 4
This is the final phase; focus all your strength, use the Plantain Fan to break the shield, combined with Immobilize, Pluck of Many (if you have enough Mana), and heavy attacks to finish off Erlang.
After defeating Erlang (human form), a cutscene will play, and you will be transitioned.
The Four Heavenly Kings Boss Fight
After the cutscene you become the giant Stone Monkey facing The Four Heavenly Kings. Take a breath, this encounter is much easier. The Kings are four giant enemies that all share one health bar.
Strategy
Make good use of the Stone Monkey’s attacks. Primal Punch (light attack) and Earthshatter Slam (heavy attack) which not only do a ton of damage but also heal you and Rock Solid (counterattack). Target 1 to 2 at a time and focus them down. Use Ice Bath to make you hand covered in frost.
Notice: Please note that, Earthshatter Slam is key of heal and harm. Use it cleverly.
Erlang Shen Boss Fight (Giant Form)
Next you face off with Erlang Shen, but a huge version.
Strategy
Tactic: Keep the tactic like against The Four Heavenly Kings. Use Primal Punch to charge Focus, Earthshatter Slam to heal and attack, Rock Solid to counterattack.
Notict: When Erlang Shen reach 70%, he’ll imbue his sword with fire, and start to use it as a whip. Beware of the range. Use Ice Bath to resist his fire attacks.
Careful: Mid-fight Erlang Shen will pick you up, drain your health, and breathe fire. Don’t worry, this is supposed to happen. After you will switch to Fiery Fist. Icy Fists is tempoarily replaced with Scorch Shower. Your bar will refill.
Continue to attack Erlang Shen with all that you have, take adventage of Earthshatter Slam to heal and finish him.
After defeat Erlang Shen, there is a long cutscene to close down the Mount Mei.
When wind howl, you will get out of Mount Mei. A cutscene play, reveal the dialogue between Old Man and small Buddha outside tapestries. Then you will return to The Great Pagoda.
