Are you struggling with Red Loong in Black Myth: Wukong? This fire dragon is not only strong but also holds many secrets. Don’t worry! This article will be your guide, guiding you step-by-step on the journey to find, confront, and defeat Red Loong. We will share tips and small details that you may have missed, helping you conquer this challenge more easily.
Location and Important Warning
Before you’re eager to try your hand at Red Loong, stop for a moment! The problem is not the difficulty, but that you can’t meet it yet. You absolutely must complete Chapter 1 and get at least halfway through Chapter 2. The reason is that you need a very important item: Loong Scales. This is the only “key” to unlock the secret path to Red Loong, and unfortunately, you can’t find it in Chapter 1. The developers have cleverly arranged everything, forcing you to be patient and complete certain tasks before you can face this fire dragon.
The Journey to Find Red Loong
As mentioned, finding Red Loong is not a simple journey, it requires patience and exploration. Follow these steps, and you will soon be able to encounter this fire dragon:
Step 1: Complete Chapter 1
This is mandatory. You cannot skip to Chapter 2 without completing Chapter 1. Focus on the main storyline and overcome the challenges.
Step 2: Chapter 2 and the Loong Scales Key
Sandgate Village: Enter Chapter 2 and explore until you reach Sandgate Village.
Two First Enemies: Here, you will face two bosses: King of Flowing Sands and Second Rat Prince.
Valley of Despair: After defeating them, go to the left side of the boss area to enter the Valley of Despair.
First Rat Prince and the Secret Wall: In the valley, you will meet First Rat Prince. Don’t rush to finish him! Lure him to attack the circular wall, where there are small statues. His attack (or you can do it yourself with a strong attack, such as the Spirit Attack of Wandering Wight (Wandering Wight is a Spirit that you can summon to assist in combat) will crack the wall.
Secret Revealed: Go through the crack, and you will find a chest. Inside is what you need is Loong Scales.
Step 3: Return to Forest of Wolves
Teleport: Use the fast travel feature to return to the Forest of Wolves (Chapter 1). The teleport point you need is Outside the Forest Shrine.
Waterfall and Four Statues: From Outside the Forest Shrine, go to the left, go up, and find the area with a large waterfall and four statues.
Sign: If you have the Loong Scales, when you get close to this area, you will hear a mysterious voice. That’s a sign that you’re on the right track.
Open the Path: Approach the waterfall and interact. Thanks to the power of the Loong Scales, the waterfall will disappear, revealing a secret path leading straight to the lair of Red Loong.
Red Loong Boss Fight and Guide
Red Loong, the fire dragon with lightning power, will be a real challenge to your skills. To win, you need to master its weaknesses, moves, and the right strategy.
Crucial Weak Points
- Four Electric Pots on its Back: This is the key to defeating Red Loong. Focus all your firepower on these pots. They are very fragile and will deal massive damage when destroyed.
- Stagger State: When you deal enough damage, Red Loong will enter a Stagger (stunned) state. This is a golden opportunity to unleash all your attacks.
Moves to Watch Out For
Claw Swipes: Red Loong will swipe its claws extremely fast, creating lightning zones on the ground.
Tail Attacks: Red Loong’s tail is extremely dangerous. It can spin, thrust, or sweep.
Lightning Spots: Red Loong frequently creates exploding lightning zones on the ground.
Extended Combo: This is Red Loong‘s most dangerous attack. It will combine swipes, jump into the air, spin its tail, and attack from behind.
Electric Explosion: Red Loong can makes its body exploding with electric, causing AoE damage.
Precise Strategy
- To cope, first, prepare thoroughly: Bring as much Shock-Quelling Powder as possible, as the Shock effect will cause you to take extra damage. Also, purchase Thunderbolt Horn Soak from Shen Monkey to increase your Shock resistance.
- When fighting, attack effectively: Use Pillar Stance when Red Loong is stunned to increase your range and damage, making it easier to hit its back. Use Charged Attacks, combined with Spirits and Spells such as Wandering Wight and Azure Dust Transformation. Don’t forget Tiger Subduing Pellet when Red Loong is stunned.
- Defensively, be tight: Always be ready with Rock Solid to block strong attacks, and continuously Dodge to avoid lightning zones and attacks.
So, you now have everything you need to confront and defeat Red Loong. This victory not only brings you valuable rewards (such as Loong Pearl, Mind Core, Silk, experience points, Boshan Censer, and Thunder Tail), but also opens up a fascinating part of the storyline, and is an important stepping stone for you to be able to craft the legendary weapon, the Loongwreathe Staff.
