How to Unlock the Chapter 2 Secret Area – Black Myth: Wukong

Chapter 2 of Black Myth: Wukong hides a big secret: the Kingdom of Sahali. This is not an ordinary secret area, but a place with a “huge” boss, “top-notch” equipment, and secrets hidden behind the storyline. This article will guide you step-by-step to unlock the Kingdom of Sahali, from finding the Yellow-Robed Squire to unlocking the secret area.

The Journey to the Secret Kingdom

Location of the Yellow-Robed Squire and starting the side quest

First, make sure you have defeated the First Prince of Flowing Sands and have the Arhat Gold Piece in your possession. Also, don’t forget to have a Sobering Stone and Jade Lotus ready; you can find them in many places or buy them from merchants.

Our journey begins at Rockrest Flat. From here, go through Sandgate Village and Fright Cliff. You can skip the Squall Hideout Keeper’s Shrine, just continue until you see a small path blocked by a wooden fence.

Break that fence, and you will find the Yellow-Robed Squire – a drunk boar guy – sitting on a rock.

How to get the Sobering Stone

Next, you need to get the Sobering Stone. There are two ways to get this item, you can choose the way that suits you

Method 1: Quick at Windrest Hamlet

If you want to save time, this is the fastest way. From Rockrest Flat, go to Yellow Sand Formation.

Find Windrest Bridge and cross the bridge to enter Windrest Hamlet. Turn left, then go up the stairs on the right. In the next courtyard, look for a building with a broken wall. Inside, you will see a glowing pot – that is where the Sobering Stone is stored. Break the pot and pick up the item.

Method 2: Challenge with the Man-in-Stone Quest

If you like to explore and want more of a challenge, choose this method. You will need to complete the Man-in-Stone side quest. After helping (and defeating) him, you can buy the Sobering Stone directly from this strange man.

Complete the Sidequest

Once you have the Sobering Stone, return to the Yellow-Robed Squire and give it to him. After “sobering up”, this boar guy will wake up and move to a new location.

The next stop is Crouching Tiger Temple. Teleport to the Temple Entrance Keeper’s Shrine. From there, go up the stairs, but turn right just before reaching the top. You will see the Yellow-Robed Squire leaning against the wall. This time, he asks you for a Jade Lotus. Fortunately, this flower usually grows in places with water, or you can find it for sale from merchants.

After exchanging “gifts”, you need to find the Yellow-Robed Squire one last time. But before that, remember to defeat the First Prince of Flowing Sands and get the Arhat Gold Piece. When you are ready, return to Rockrest Flat, where you met him for the first time. This time, instead of sitting on the rock, the boar guy will be waiting for you on the slope. Approach him, and a dialogue will break out, leading to a duel. Defeating the Yellow-Robed Squire not only brings you the “cool” Snout Mask, but also opens the secret gate leading to the Kingdom of Sahali. This gate is located right on the slope, where you just defeated the boar guy. Step into it, a cutscene will appear, and there you have set foot in the mysterious land!

So you have completed the challenging journey to unlock the Kingdom of Sahali! From searching for a drunk boar guy, completing a strange side quest, to the fierce battles, it all leads to a worthy reward: exploring a mysterious land, confronting new bosses, and collecting unique equipment.

I wish you exciting hours of exploration in the Kingdom of Sahali! If you have any questions, or want to share your experience, don’t hesitate to leave a comment below. And don’t forget, Black Myth: Wukong has many more secrets waiting for you to discover!
