Journey to the First Venom Daoist Encounter (Webbed Hollow)
To find the Venom Daoist for the first time, you need to start from the Upper Hollow Shrine in the Webbed Hollow area.

Go up another staircase. After going up the second staircase, go straight, and you will see the Pool of Shattered Jade Shrine next to a few torches and a cave.
Go to the right side of the shrine, towards the area with a large cocoon in the middle. Attack the Old Cocoon to make the Venom Daoist appear.
Battle with the Venom Daoist (First Time)
The Venom Daoist is a rather difficult opponent with combo attacks and poison.
Important Tip (Missable Gear): To get the Venomous Armguard, you must destroy his 4 lower arms before finishing him off. Use your weapon with the lowest damage and focus your attacks on his back. If you’re having trouble, use the Immobilize skill to keep him still. If you kill him before destroying the 4 arms, you will not get this item.
After defeating him, he will run away.
Finding and Defeating the Venom Daoist a Second Time (Temple of Yellow Flowers)
Start from the Temple Entrance Keeper’s Shrine. Go through the door to the right of the shrine and go straight up the stairs.
Go through the door at the top and into the courtyard with the large tree in the middle.
Follow the path upwards until you reach the area where you fought the Fungiwoman boss.
When you get there, turn around, and you will see a path on the left, from where you just came.
Go down to the open area and face the Venom Daoist for the second time. The Venom Daoist has lost some arms, making him slower, but he is still very dangerous.
When you get him down to half health, a cutscene will play. He will challenge you to a “real” fight. The battle will continue with a full health bar, but he will recover more slowly after each attack. Focus on dodging and taking advantage of opportunities when he is vulnerable.
After defeating the Venom Daoist for the second time, a painting will appear on the nearby wall. Interact with it to enter Purple Cloud Mountain.
