If you’re “lost” in Chapter 3 of Black Myth: Wukong and want to “clean up” New Thunderclap Temple, then you definitely won’t want to miss Non-Pure – a “stubborn” but also… quite lazy Yaoguai Chief. He is one of the four disciples of Yellowbrow, and although it’s an optional fight, “defeating” Non-Pure not only brings valuable rewards but also helps you “hone” your combat skills.
This guide will not “beat around the bush” but go straight to the point: showing you the exact location of Non-Pure, “revealing” his combat tricks, and most importantly, sharing “perfect” strategies for you to “send” him to “paradise” quickly. Consider this a “secret” for you to “conquer” this challenge, “collect” all the rewards, and confidently move forward on the path of conquering Black Myth: Wukong.
Location and Recommended Loadout
To find his location, start from the Mahavira Hall Shrine, go down the stairs to the courtyard area and turn right. Enter the temple, and you will see Non-Pure.
Don’t “underestimate” Non-Pure just because he’s lazy. The fight with him can be “tough” if you don’t prepare carefully. Here are some important “bullet points”:
“Prioritize” armor sets with high defense stats. Non-Pure “attacks” quite strongly, so being able to “survive” long in the battle is very important.
Ashen Slumber is a “worthwhile” choice. Rat Captain has excellent dodging ability, and you can “breathe fire” at Non-Pure without fear of being blocked, not to mention the Fiery Burst skill that deals massive damage.
Non-Pure Boss Fight and Guide
To “defeat” Non-Pure, you need to “understand” how he fights. Non-Pure is a “continuous attack” type “player”. He uses his Monk’s Spade to “sweep”, “spin”, and “smash” continuously, creating attacks with a very wide range. His special feature is the “divine” gauntlet that can “neutralize” your attacks.
Thrust and Sweep: Non-Pure runs forward, thrusting the Monk’s Spade forward. Immediately after, he spins around, sweeping the Monk’s Spade horizontally. Dodge to the side when he thrusts, then back away or dodge again when he sweeps.
Side Slice and Overhead Slam: Non-Pure slashes horizontally once, then raises the Monk’s Spade high and slams it down. Dodge to the side when he slashes, then back away when he slams.
Multi-hit Sweep Combo: Non-Pure sweeps the Monk’s Spade up and down twice, then sweeps horizontally three times in a row, ending with a jump and a spinning slam. Try to dodge continuously in one direction, or use Immobilize to interrupt the combo.
Spinning Slash Combo: Non-pure runs forward, then does a 5-hit spinning slash combo. the last slash he will jump and slash down. Try dodging continously, or use Immobilize. Try timing your deflect.
Overhead Jump Attack: Non-Pure jumps into the air, then slams down. Try to dodge continuously when he is in the air.
Defensive Gauntlet: Non-Pure has an “armored” gauntlet that can “glow”. When this gauntlet “lights up” (especially the tattoo on his arm), he has the ability to “block” most of your attacks. If you “persistently” attack when the gauntlet is “lit”, he will “counterattack” with a dizzying spin, followed by a spinning attack that is very difficult to avoid. Don’t “greedily” attack when the gauntlet is “lit”. Be “patient” and wait until the light goes out, or use Transformation attacks to “penetrate” this defense.
Weaknesses
Non-Pure’s attacks, although strong, have a fairly long “cooldown” time. This is a “golden opportunity” for you to “counterattack”.
His “divine” gauntlet is “powerless” against Transformation attacks.
After “overcoming” the challenge called Non-Pure, you will receive the Non-Pure Spirit – allowing you to “transform” and use his Monk’s Spade to “sweep away” enemies.
So we have “dissected” every nook and cranny of Non-Pure, from location, combat mechanics, to strategy and rewards. Hopefully, with this “detailed” and “practical” information, you will no longer “dread” this “lazy” Yaoguai Chief.
Remember, the “key” to “victory” lies not only in “mastering” the theory but also in “practicing” and “adjusting” your strategy. Don’t “hesitate” to try different approaches, use skills and spells “flexibly”, and most importantly, “persevere”.
Wish you have fun “playing the game” and “successfully” “defeating” Non-Pure, as well as “conquering” other challenges in Black Myth: Wukong!
