Welcome, Chosen Ones, this article will guide you on how to find and defeat Flint Chief (燧统领), an optional Yaoguai Chief (mini-boss) hiding in Furnace Valley in Chapter 5 of Black Myth: Wukong. Since it’s an easy-to-miss side boss, we’ll pinpoint the route, provide effective combat tactics (including key arm-breaking tips), list rewards, and useful tips to ensure you don’t miss out on this exciting challenge.
Location
To find Flint Chief, start from the (Shrine) named Valley Entrance in the Furnace Valley area.
- From the Shrine, go straight ahead, through a large stone gate.
- Continue forward, and you will meet a shield-wielding enemy (Earth Rakshasa). From here, head straight ahead and slightly to the left, passing through a stone arch.
- You’ll soon see a Flamling appear on the right (or a second shield-wielding enemy near the large gate). At this position, look down to the left of the cliff where you are standing.
- Drop down into the molten lava area below.
- Quick tip: As soon as you land, turn right and walk a short distance to find a tree. Pick up the Fire Date (recovery item) from here first.
- After taking the Fire Date, turn around and go in the opposite direction, towards the lava flowing down from the cave ceiling. As you get close enough, Flint Chief will slowly emerge from the lava flow to engage in battle.
Flint Chief Boss Fight and Guide
Flint Chief is a clumsy opponent with powerful attacks, but he’s completely controllable if you know how.
Absolutely avoid standing on the lava as much as possible! Always move and fight on the safe rock ledges and edges. Actively lure Flint Chief to move closer to these areas.
Long sweeps: The boss will swing its arm in a wide arc in front of it. Time your (dodge roll) or (parry).
Fist slams: A powerful punch to the ground, often creating ripples of lava spreading around. Dodge away or jump to avoid the waves. The Fireproof Mantle will reduce damage if you happen to get hit.
When Flint Chief break, he will drop Flint Chief Spirit.
And that’s all you need to know to conquer Flint Chief! In summary, this is a fairly interesting optional Yaoguai Chief hidden in Chapter 5’s Furnace Valley, which is easy to miss if you don’t explore carefully. Remember the core strategy: always move on the safe rock ledges to avoid the burning lava, use the Fireproof Mantle if you have it, and most importantly – focus on destroying his two hands to make him lose his balance. The rewards received, especially the Samadhi Fire Crystal and Knot of Voidness, are well worth the effort.
Good luck taking down this stone giant and continuing your challenging journey in the world of Black Myth: Wukong! If you have any other tips you’d like to share, feel free to leave a comment.
