Buddha’s Right Hand – Black Myth: Wukong

Surely you’ve “gone through” quite a few challenges in Black Myth: Wukong, and now, Buddha’s Right Hand is blocking your way in Chapter 4? Don’t worry, this Yaoguai Chief boss, although “weird” and somewhat scary, is not unbeatable. This article will be your guide, providing you with detailed, step-by-step instructions, along with “hard-earned” tips and tricks that I – a Black Myth: Wukong player with quite a few flight hours – have compiled. Defeating Buddha’s Right Hand not only helps you delve deeper into the story, explore the mysterious Webbed Hollow area, but also brings extremely valuable rewards. Let’s “dissect” this boss together!

Location and Recommended Loadout

From the Cliff of Oblivion Shrine in the Webbed Hollow area, head to the left. You will see a narrow corridor, and there, a strange hand is holding a mirror. That is Buddha’s Right Hand.

There is no one perfect set of equipment for everyone, but based on my experience, here are a few suggestions:

  • Weapon: Prioritize weapons with fast attack speed and the ability to deal continuous damage. Staff is a good choice, especially moves belonging to the Pillar or Thrust Stance. If you have a weapon that deals additional elemental damage (e.g., fire, poison), consider using it.
  • Armor: Because Buddha’s Right Hand has many poison attacks in its later form, armor with poison resistance will be very helpful. However, don’t focus too much on poison resistance and ignore other defensive stats.
  • As the Stance, Pillar and Thrust are 2 good choices. Pillar help you stand firm and deal consistent damage, while thrust allows you to attack from range and dodge quick.

Buddha’s Right Hand Boss Fight and Guide

Phase 1: Hand Form

In this phase, Buddha’s Right Hand will attack you with… its own hand. The main attacks are slaps, punches, and horizontal sweeps. The important thing is that you must carefully observe the hand’s movements to dodge and counterattack in a timely manner. Keep a moderate distance, not too close to avoid being slapped unexpectedly, but also not too far to be able to attack when there is an opportunity.

Wall Slap: The hand will slam hard against the wall, causing a small shockwave and causing rocks to fall from the ceiling. Observe the direction the hand slams and move out of the affected area. Watch out for falling rocks, they can stun.

Fist Slam: The hand clenches into a fist and slams straight down. Dodge Roll to the side when you see the hand clench.

Magic Dart: The hand shoots out a magic dart. There are two versions:

Quick Shot: The hand flicks lightly, the dart flies fast but is not too difficult to dodge.

Charged Shot: The hand gathers energy, the dart flies slower but deals more damage and can stun.

Combo Punch: The hand will exert it self, glowing with gold color, then throw 3-4 punches. Step back and time when its about to hit, then dodge to either side.

Phase 2: Bug Form

When Buddha’s Right Hand’s health drops to about half, it will “transform” into a hideous giant bug. Don’t panic, this is when you need to be calmer than ever.

This phase is more difficult than phase 1 because the bug has many new attacks, especially poison spitting. Your goal is to focus on attacking its head and hand (still retained). Try to move continuously, avoid standing still to avoid being poisoned.

Poison Spew: The bug will spit out a stream of extremely powerful poison, dealing continuous damage.

Leg Stab: The bug uses its front legs to stab the ground. Roll to the side when you see its legs lift.

Hand Slam: The bug slams its hand (still retained) down. Similar to the punch in phase 1, roll to the side.

Charge: If you see the bug go back, be careful, it will charge to you.

Body Sweep: The bug uses its body to sweep across a wide area. Don’t try to block this attack, back away or jump.

Poison Bug Cloud: The bug spits out a cloud of poison bugs that fly around. It’s best to stay away from the area with the poison bug cloud.

After “struggling” and defeating Buddha’s Right Hand, you will receive the following worthy rewards:

  • Buddha’s Right Hand: An important item (Key Item). Currently, you cannot use it immediately, but keep it. Later, when you find Buddha’s Left Hand deeper in Webbed Hollow, you can bring both to Shen Monkey at Zodiac Village to craft a special Gourd.
  • Past-Echo: Another Key Item.

So you have the knowledge and strategies needed to face Buddha’s Right Hand in Black Myth: Wukong. This is a not easy battle, requiring concentration, patience, and good dodging skills.

Defeating Buddha’s Right Hand is just one of many challenges you will face in Black Myth: Wukong. Always keep the spirit of learning, exploring, and don’t be afraid to try new strategies.

Good luck on your journey to becoming the Monkey King! And don’t forget to share your experience with the Black Myth: Wukong community!
