Tired of running around with nothing new? Black Myth: Wukong hides countless secrets, and the Man-in-Stone‘s quest is one of them. It’s not just a side quest, it’s also an opportunity to “make friends,” “make enemies,” and then “shop” with a strange stone Yaoguai. The reward? The Azure Dust transformation, an extremely useful skill to “petrify” yourself in intense battles. Let’s explore this “laugh-and-cry” journey, starting from Fright Cliff in Chapter 2!
Location and Important Warning
First, go to the Squall Hideout Shrine teleport point in the Fright Cliff area. You will see a ruined area in front of you.
Don’t rush into that ruin. Instead, look to the right. You will see a small path before reaching the Squall Hideout area. Follow this path.
Continue straight, you will see a small stone bridge with an enemy standing on it. Don’t go up the bridge, go down the slope below and turn left, follow the path under the bridge.
At the end of this small path, you will find the Man-in-Stone – a stone Yaoguai who is trapped. Talk to him to start the quest chain.
Man-in-Stone Boss Fight and Guild
After “chatting” with the Man-in-Stone, you will know what he needs. Your task now is to leave the Man-in-Stone‘s location, go back the way you came. This time, go straight up, you will see a large cave. Go inside the cave, look to the right, you will see a slope leading up. Continue going up, you will soon encounter the Mother of Stones – a rather “tanky” boss who, however… stands still.
Reward: After defeating the Mother of Stones, you will pick up the Stone Essence – what the Man-in-Stone craves.
When you return and give the Stone Essence to the Man-in-Stone, he will unexpectedly attack you. Don’t worry, he is very weak, you can easily defeat him.
After “subduing” the Man-in-Stone, you not only have a new transformation but also a “merchant” to shop with.
Return to any nearby Keeper’s Shrine and rest. Go back to the Man-in-Stone‘s location (he has now burrowed into the ground). Now, the Man-in-Stone has become a vendor, offering you some useful (and… not so useful) items.
Important note: Although there are many merchants gathered in Zodiac Village, the Man-in-Stone will never move there. So, if you need to buy anything from him, remember the way to Fright Cliff!
