Non-White – Black Myth: Wukong

In the enchanting world of Black Myth: Wukong, Non-White is not just a clown on stage, but also a dangerous Yaoguai Chief that you will have to face. He not only possesses deceptive attacks, but also has the ability to use both ice and poison, making the fight more unpredictable than ever. Don’t let his “scholarly” appearance fool you, Non-White is one of the most formidable challenges in Chapter 3. This article will be your guide, providing all the necessary information, from location, characteristics, detailed strategy, to small tips so you can “deal with” this annoying clown. Prepare your weapons and spirit, because we will “unmask” Non-White right now!

Location and Recommended Loadout

You will encounter Non-White not just once, but twice in your journey. The first time, he will “greet” you at Mindfulness Cliff. Just go straight from the Mindfulness Cliff Shrine, cross the bridge, and you will see him right away.

But don’t get too excited, because that’s just the warm-up. After “saying goodbye” to him at Mindfulness Cliff, return to the Shrine to recover, then go deeper into the cave. This time, Non-White will be waiting for you on the road to the Valley of Ecstasy.

Before “interacting” with Non-White, make sure you are fully equipped:

  • First time: Choose Thrust Stance. The reason is that Non-White in the first encounter uses a long sword, with a long attack range. Thrust Stance also has a similar attack range, helping you “match” him.
  • Second time: When Non-White switches to dual blades, switch to Pillar Stance. This stance focuses on attacks from above, very effective in countering Non-White’s fast, close-range fighting style.
  • Antimiasma and Body-Warming medicine are two indispensable items.
  • Red Tides is Non-White’s “nemesis,” as he is weak against the Fire element. However, be careful not to use heavy attacks while using Red Tides, as it will reduce the duration of the spell.

Non-White Boss Fight and Guide

First encounter (Mindfulness Cliff).

Roll + Slash: He will roll towards you, slash upwards, then jump up for another slash, finishing with a wide horizontal slash. Dodge to the side when he rolls, then time your dodges or blocks for the following slashes.

Thrust Combo: Non-white thrusts his sword up, thrusts quickly, then poses, lunges quickly, and finally slashes twice. Dodge or block the initial thrusts, then parry when he lunges.

Spin + Ice: He spins his sword, lunges, slashes upwards, then slams his sword to the ground, creating a trail of ice. Dodge to the side when he spins his sword, then move back to avoid the ice trail.

Poison Darts: He throws 3 poisoned darts towards you. React quickly to dodge or block.

Strategy

  • Use Immobilize when Non-White is still using the long sword.
  • Try to attack from behind when he is blocking.
  • Use Smash Stance to break his guard, then follow up with a heavy attack.
  • Parry after Non-White blocks your attack.
  • Keep a safe distance and dodge the poison darts.

Note: Non-White will run away when he has only half his health left.

Second encounter (On the way to the Valley of Ecstasy)

Slash + Ice: He slashes quickly, dragging his sword on the ground, then slashes upwards, creating a row of ice spikes. Dodge to the side when he slashes, then move back or jump to avoid the ice spikes.

Spin + Fly + Ice Slash: Non-White spins, jumps and slashes, then hovers in the air, gathers energy into his sword, and then lunges quickly, delivering a powerful ice slash. Time your dodge or parry for the final slash.

(When using dual blades) Slash Combo: He slashes twice, crouches down, then lunges forward and slashes again. Dodge or block the initial slashes, parry the last one.

(When using dual blades) Dart Rain: He throws a series of poison darts towards you. Run sideways continuously to dodge.

(When using dual blades) Shadow + Poison: He will phase, close in on you with a spinning attack, then spit poison in your face. Dodge to the side when he spins.

(When using dual blades) Jump Slash Combo: He crouches down, jumps up and slashes with both blades, then slashes two more times, finishing with a hooking slash. Dodge or block the slashes, then parry the last one.

(When using dual blades) Shadow Dash Combo: He phases, slides on the ground, then jumps up, slashes down twice in a row, and finally slams down hard. Time your dodges for the slashes, then parry the final slam.

Strategy

  • Switch to Pillar Stance when Non-White switches to using dual blades.
  • Focus on parrying his fast attacks.
  • Do not use Immobilize when he is using dual blades, as he will escape very quickly.
  • Be careful with ice attacks; use an antidote if you get the Chill status.
  • Be flexible and change your strategy when Non-White switches back to using the long sword.

Note: He will temporarily switch to using dual blades when his Stamina Bar is depleted.

After “dealing with” Non-White, you will receive the Non-White Spirit.

Non-White is not an easy opponent, but with careful preparation, the right strategy, and a little patience, you can absolutely defeat him.
