Valley of Ecstasy Walkthrough – Black Myth: Wukong

I, one who has roamed far and wide, will now humbly use my meager experience to write this guide, hoping to help fellow heroes overcome the Valley of Ecstasy with ease. This article will be a detailed “map,” guiding you through each area, pointing out every secret, advising you on how to deal with each type of demon, and revealing the rare treasures hidden in this mysterious valley.

Mindfulness Cliff

Upon arriving at the Valley of Ecstasy, the first place that greets you heroes is Mindfulness Cliff. From the exit of Bitter Lake, carefully follow the only path, take deep breaths to calm your mind, because this is where your will is tested. Right from the start, remember the goal: get through Mindfulness Cliff and defeat the monstrous Non-White twice.

This path is not only precarious but also full of traps and enemies. First of all, there is the Yaoguai Chief – Non-White, a monstrous being who uses a bizarre sword style, appearing and disappearing in an instant, and is capable of using ice and poison.

He has a special bar called the “Blocking Bar,” which you need to break in order to deal effective damage to him. In addition, you will have to face Monk Supporters, melee-attacking minions; Censer Holders, who use monstrous gusts of wind; and Cyan Bats, these bats often ambush from above.

However, this perilous path also holds many secrets. Before engaging Non-White for the first time, look carefully at the cliff on the right, and you will see a secret cave.

Be brave, jump down, and follow the ledges to get there. The treasure chest here contains the Fiery Gourd, which will help you resist Non-White’s ice, an extremely important treasure.

Continue your journey, follow the hidden path, defeat the Monk Supporters and Cyan Bats, and you will encounter a familiar yaoguai (demon). Following its trail, you will find the Skandha of Thought, a precious memory fragment.

After defeating Non-White for the first time, enter the cave, eliminate the Monk Supporters and Censer Holders. Here, in a chest, you will find Maitreya’s Orb (Curio), a treasure containing mysterious power.

Don’t forget to collect the Green Wisps scattered along the way, absorb them to receive Will, a valuable resource for upgrading your strength.

Continue following the path outside, to the top of the cliff, prepare for a rematch with Non-White (Round Two). This time, he will use poison, so be careful.

Continue to use the Fiery Gourd, combined with Immobilize and Cloud Step to dodge and counterattack.

Defeating Non-White for the second time will grant you 1 free Skill Point when you find the Meditation Spot – The Track nearby.

Before sliding down to the Valley of Ecstasy, return to Bitter Lake and complete the side quests: defeat the Apramana Bat and meet the Treasure Hunter. Otherwise, you will miss the opportunity to complete these quests.

Forest of Felicity

After overcoming Mindfulness Cliff, the Forest of Felicity stretches out before you.

Before you is the Forest of Felicity Shrine, the first save point of this area.

From Forest of Felicity Shrine, follow the main path. Soon, you will meet the Snow Fox Guai, receive the Snow Fox Brush from it, and begin the Snow Fox’s Quest.

Then, enter the canyon to the left of the Shrine. Here, you must face the Yaoguai Chief – Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang. To fight him, use the Frostspout Twig Curio, Fiery Gourd, and Circle of Fire Spell to counter his ice attacks. Remember to keep moving, and avoid the areas of ice that he creates.

After defeating Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang, go up the path to the left of the main road (near the entrance to the canyon).

Following the cliff, you will encounter a Falcon Fan-Maker. Defeat it and open the Treasure Chest nearby to collect the Blood of the Iron Bull.

Brook of Bliss

Leaving the Forest of Felicity, follow the gentle slope leading down to the valley, where the Brook of Bliss flows peacefully.

The sound of the babbling brook combined with the chirping of birds creates a serene setting, but don’t let the calm appearance fool you, danger is always lurking.

Here, you will face many ferocious enemies. Yaoguai Chief – Non-Able is a martial arts master with powerful steel punches, thunderous kicks, and is particularly dangerous with two distinct combat phases. He may appear to be bound, but his potential power should not be underestimated.

In addition, the Thunder Rhino Master uses a staff, casting lightning attacks from afar.

Across the bridge, you will see the Brook of Bliss Shrine. Before you check the area above, circle back across the bridge and check the nearby area below.

Both paths lead down to the valley, where the Brook of Bliss flows. Walk along the riverbank, collect herbs, defeat the enemies that block your way, pay special attention to the Crow Diviner (Spirit) – a stronger variation of the regular Crow Diviner.

Go to the end of the river, you will see a steep cliff. Bravely drop down the cliff, search carefully, and you will discover a secret cave. Inside is the Melon Field Shrine – activate it to save your respawn point.

After that, return to the Brook of Bliss Shrine. From here, go up the hill, you will encounter Frozen Corpses and a Thunder Rhino Master. Be careful, at the top of the hill, near a small Pagoda, Yaoguai Chief – Non-Able is waiting. Non-Able is an extremely difficult opponent, he has two combat phases. Prepare potions to increase your strength, stamina, and focus. During the battle, flexibly use Immobilize, Cloud Step, Red Tides, Azure Dust, and Pluck of Many to counter his stormy attacks.

Towers of Karma

Leaving the Brook of Bliss, return to the entrance of the Forest of Felicity canyon that you traversed earlier.

This time, instead of going down to the valley, turn left and follow the dry stream to enter the Towers of Karma area – where ancient, moss-covered stone towers stand tall, carrying an air of solemnity and mystery. The main objectives here are to explore the Towers of Karma, meet and assist the Treasure Hunter for the second time, and defeat Yaoguai Chief – Old Ginseng Guai.

Hidden among the ancient stone towers are many secrets waiting to be discovered. Jade Essence (Drink) – an extremely useful drink that restores both Health and Mana – will be your reward after defeating Old Ginseng Guai. Near the entrance to Longevity Road, you will find a Treasure Chest containing valuable items. Collect the Green Wisps scattered throughout the area to receive Will. Aged Ginseng also grows in many places here, but be careful as some will transform into Ginsenglings and attack.

From the canyon of Forest of Felicity, turn left, follow the dry stream, and you will reach the Towers of Karma. Here, defeat the Crow Diviner lurking nearby. Continue into the area, and you will encounter Circus Monkeys, Frozen Corpses, and Monk Supporters. Defeat them, and you will meet the Treasure Hunter again.

This time, he is shivering from the cold. Use Ring of Fire to warm him up.

After being helped, the Treasure Hunter will reveal information about the Melon Garden – a secret area that we explored earlier (Melon Field Shrine at Brook of Bliss).

Next, activate the Towers of Karma Shrine to save your progress. Nearby, you will have to face a Dual-Blade Monk – a fairly strong enemy with fast and continuous attacks.

After defeating him, enter the open ground, where you will have to fight Yaoguai Chief – Old Ginseng Guai. Be careful with the attacks from the roots and the Ginsenglings he summons. Use Pillar Stance to avoid being bound by the roots.

Defeating Old Ginseng Guai will grant you Jade Essence – an extremely useful Drink.

After that, go up the nearby hill, defeat the Lesser Apramana Bat, and open the Treasure Chest to collect the spoils. From here, you can see the entrance to Longevity Road, but don’t go there yet, we’ll get to that later.

Longevity Road

After exploring the Towers of Karma, follow the path leading up the hill, where you defeated the Lesser Apramana Bat.

Here, you will face Yaoguai Chief – Captain Kalpa-Wave – a large demon with the ability to spit poisonous blood, creating pools of blood on the ground that deal damage over time. Dark-faced Overlords – slow but powerful giants that can throw rocks from afar and attack with devastating punches.

This road also hides many secrets. After defeating the first Dark-faced Overlord, you will see the corpse of another Captain. Interact with the corpse to receive the Spirit of Captain Void-Illusion.

The Gold Spikeplate Curio will drop from a Dark-faced Overlord in the forest to the left of the Shrine.

The Awakened Wine Worm is in a glowing pot in the forest to the left of the Shrine, guarded by a Turtle Treasure.

Luojia Fragrant Vine is on a tree in the forest to the left of the Shrine, guarded by two Falcon Fan-Makers.

There are three Treasure Chests, one near the first Dark-faced Overlord, one at the foot of the tower near the corpse of Captain Void-Illusion, and the last one in the forest to the left of the Shrine.

Don’t forget to collect the Green Wisps scattered throughout the area.

Return to the main path and proceed towards the temple.

Before reaching the temple gate, you will have to face Yaoguai Chief – Captain Kalpa-Wave.

This demon can spit poisonous blood and create pools of blood on the ground. Avoid his attacks, especially the blood pools.

Use Pillar Stance to stun him and deal additional damage. Immobilize and Pluck of Many are also useful skills in this battle.

Completing the Pagoda Prisoner’s Quest

Head back to the Lower Pagoda Shrine, and revisit the Pagoda Realm Prisoner (aka, the Third Prince of Flowing Sands). He will be grateful for your work in putting his captains to rest, and will award you the Chubai Spearhead, which allows you to craft a spear variant of your trusty staff: the Chu-Bai Spear!

Completing the Treasure Hunter’s Quest (Optional)

After collecting all the clues from the Treasure Hunter at the Towers of Karma, it’s time to complete this side quest and reap the rewards. Return to the Melon Field Shrine in the Brook of Bliss. From anywhere, you can teleport to the Melon Field Shrine (located in the secret cave at the end of the Brook of Bliss). Entering the cave, you will encounter Yaoguai Chief – Green-Capped Martialist, a mysterious enemy with ghostly movements and powerful martial arts. Your goal is to defeat him and receive the Spell – Spell Binder.

The battle with the Green-Capped Martialist will not be easy. He uses a fire ring as a weapon, moves extremely fast, and has the ability to teleport. His attacks are very difficult to predict, requiring you to be highly focused and have quick reflexes. Use Cloud Step to dodge his lightning-fast dashes. The fire ring he uses is also a powerful weapon that can knock you back. Observe carefully, dodge, and wait for an opportunity to counterattack. You can also try ranged attacks to maintain a safe distance. After defeating the Green-Capped Martialist, you will receive the Spell – Spell Binder – a useful spell that can bind enemies, giving you an opportunity to attack or recover.
